domesticated

Today we went to pier one. We had a gift card from my coworker (thanks Sherry!). We bought lamps. Matching lamps for our respective nightstands. Mrs. Ham House thought it would be nice to have matching lamps. For some reason this seems like a wierd step in life. Buying matching lamps for our bedroom. sigh....

Do your nightstands match too, or just the lamps?

Only the lamps. Some day we'll have real furniture...until then, we have the lamos... :)

So paining has been a huge adventure....the yellow is REALLY bright, sunshine yellow.. It'll take some adjusting too, but it's fun, and perfect for the jungle theme!

We got domestic when we bought curtins. After going through the hassle (what color? what style? put them up, take them down, put them up, take them down) I think I know why our parents have lived with the same type of curtains for years!

I was just having a conversation with a colleague about how mundane life has become...we get excited to go home on a Friday night to paint the house/hang curtains/buy matching lamps....so much for the former wild nights we used to have....

But I'm not complaining, having a house is an adventure...

How can your life be mundane when you have an absolutely adorable 2 year old running around?

(The sad part is that Steve and I have matching nightstands from IKEA, only right now they are 1500 miles apart. And we're not married!)
